Italians have been quite pathetic in all this situation imo. Pretending like they could handle the case better than the swiss are. In italy NEVER they would have even investigated the mayor if a private business caught fire. They would have blamed the owner and the mafia and prosecute only the owner, and the case wouldn’t have been dragged for months but for a decade
You know he knew the owners, hell he probably countersigned the fire safety approvals in a town that size. He’ll be as bent as a chf3 note, but just more focused on property deals and collecting bakshish, none of them do these jobs because they want to benefit the community.
