If the rumours are true, they might even expand their majority by poaching more MPs from the Conservatives. Have we ever seen a majority government come into existence through defections alone? Usually minority governments tend to be unstable and collapse with elections no?

I think it’s time for all the media to stop with this garbage, they already have a majority.
They’ll just keep bribing conservative MPs to switch parties.

Not really sure why he needs this so badly. Surely, he can convince 1 or 2 from another party (especially the NDP) to support his bills.

    What is Carney really after?

We know that many in Canada vote for the candidate in their riding who matches the party leader they want above all else. Whether you think that is the “correct” way to vote is irrelevant, people unarguably do it.

Changing the party after the vote has been cast without the requirement for a new election feels like rug pulling those individual voters, voters need all available information prior to casting their ballots without exception.

I don’t get how anyone can support this, as someone who voted Liberal this time it feels so wrong to me and I hate how people are trying to mental gymnastics themselves into thinking it’s ok
