      This won’t go over well.

      It’s a shame capitalism is going to greatly delay what should have been an amazing tool to make our lives easier. Instead. Idiot bean counters are acting like what is essentially a screwdriver could build a car on its own

      I don’t trust government to regulate it to protect people.

      I did a double take to see if someone dropped a Beaverton article but nope, legit.
      There’s a lot of skepticism over it in the general public’s eyes and the possibility of a bubble popping will make it that much more cringe.

      Haha, watch the video. For a popular leader at his party’s convention, Carney sure got muted applause for his comments about „AI for all.“ That’s not surprising, though. Most normal people don’t want their lives to be „transformed“ by AI. They know why the capital class is pushing AI so hard. Hint: it’s not to make people’s lives better.

      So long as citizens wanting to use that AI „voluntarily consent“ to a us government run ID system that benefits us companies?

      No. AI needs to be heavily regulated and limited not forced down our throats. A truly stupid thing to say.

      The only people benefitting from AI at all right now is the ultra wealthy, and we are actively suffering for it.

      Yeah this was about what I expected from him, all the things I dislike the CPC for only toned down with the culture war issues excised. A solid 5/10 to tolerate until something better comes along.

      What does that even mean? I don’t want AI. Anthropic’s new Mythos model is potentially so dangerous to global software that it can’t even be released publicly. We’re in an AI arms race against some bad actors, and you want to put the nukes in everyone’s hands!?

      This is what we get with yet more conservatives in power. Carney, although incredibly smart, is ultimately awash in neoliberalism and will help continue the erosion of labour’s rights and power. Either go left or don’t be surprised when we lose.

      I think most comments here did not watch the clip and just read the headline, which is misleading. He is saying if AI already coming, it should happen in a way that benefits regular people and has our values. AI for the benefit of everyone.
