i could be wrong but doesn’t 21 hours seem a bit too. Short? Even by whatever the hell counts as modern geopolitic’s?

The problem is that patrolling or securing the straight is extremely difficult. So what now? Continue bombing Iran into submission, a joint venture whilst staying at war? The administration has pushed itself into a corner by starting the one war you don’t want to start, against a regime that can’t be bombed out but can cripple the world economy. You then send the failed duo of witkoff and Kushner + JD Vance, who is of course known for his fine sense of diplomacy, to try and solve it. Here come more dead, higher prices and a whole lot more uncertainty. I don’t even want to imagine how erratic Trump will become.

„They have chosen not to accept our terms“

I’ll give Vance this much.. that’s the most coherent sentence I’ve heard from the US govt since this war started

21 hrs talk is not true, they spent first half of day socialising, then spent another good time with Pakistani counter parts, 12 hrs ago the meeting was just 2 hrs in, so how they calculate 21 hrs spent?
Like any work from office may be they calculated the travel time too

Anyways such a big damaging conflict needs more than just 21 hrs to agree for end.
And the stakeholders in meet needs to represent the larger world which got caught in this conflict and not just the aggressor and the victim.
