  1. From the article:

Vivek Ramaswamy’s once‑dominant path to the Ohio governor’s mansion has narrowed sharply, with prediction markets now tilting toward a Democratic victory in 2026.

Ramaswamy entered the race with national name recognition and top Republican endorsements, but recent trading reflects growing doubts about whether that advantage will hold in a competitive, open‑seat contest.

    Worlds smallest violin for him

He thought he was “one of the good ones” for republicans

  3. AbbiejeanKane on

Did he ever have a real shot? As ~~Laura Ingraham~~ Ann Coulter noted, she wouldn’t vote for him because he is Indian and the social media attacks on his family have been horrific.

    OHIO

If anyone wants to see what nearly 20 years of undisputed Republican control will do to a state, look at Ohio.

It’s like one of those “before” and “after” using meth photos they used to show us in DARE class.

I miss the days when I could take some joy when shitty Republicans got the failure they deserved.

That ended in maybe like 2019 when I started getting bored with it and realized how inconsequential all the scalp-getting is big picture. Now when a GOP operative’s star fades it’s just like “Whatever, there will always be someone shitty enough.”

Vivek’s ad says that “Ohio is lagging behind” other states (true). Well, Republicans have controlled the governor‘s mansion and the statehouse for the better part of 30 years (one Ted Strickland term as governor being the exception), so why, exactly, are we lagging behind????? Maybe it’s the Republican policies that DON’T WORK.

Another story about prediction markets and not actual polls.

    Ignore.

Ramaswamy was a partner with Elon Musk in get the DOGE/Tesla Chainsaw Massacre project. Ramaswamy is another techno-oligarch Peter Thiel-backed clone lilke JD Vance who doesn’t give a hoot about Ohio and only care about empowering and enriching themselves and rigging the system further for the mega-wealthy corporate elite.

If Ohio could elect Sherrod Brown back to the senate while they’re at it that would be super.

  10. What chances? He’s brown and Ohio hates that.

Who was stupid enough to believe he had a chance?

  11. Lmao I wonder if there will be a correlation between new betting markets and voter turnout.

I’ve been calling him RamaSmarmy for way too long at this point. He always just looks like he’s about three seconds away from pulling an „actually, it’s“ to almost every person he talks to.

Holy shit, can we stop citing „prediction markets“ like they aren’t just gambling sites? They aren’t pollsters. They aren’t doing any poll work. It’s literally just betting odds.

  14. Bigface_McBigz on

Good. He was a terrible candidate in the 2024 primaries and only got worse as he grabbed onto Trump’s coattails.

  15. This should scare the GOP as depressing a top line race like governor can also depress the senate turnout…

Getting Ohio back would be a huge win for the left.

Yeah turns out Ohio maga is even more racist than average and they just aren’t electing a man with brown skin. Same thing happened the last time Dems won OH governor, Ken Blackwell ran for the Republicans. What did he have in common with Vivek? Ohhhh right. That’s Ohio.

  17. Nasty_Goblin on

The guy whose entire campaign was regurgitated Russian and Chinese talking points… good.

  18. basketballsteven on

IDK it is Ohio and people there are pretty prone to swallowing shallow Republican talking points.

I thought this “leopards ate their face” when I read this headline

I asked one of my students, a 30 year old conservative from a family of conservatives, if she would vote for a POC in the upcoming governor election, and she flat out said „no way,“ adding that her family definitely wouldn’t.

It’s a weird feeling, knowing that in this case conservatives‘ inherent racism will actually do Ohio some good.

  21. Maybe J.D. (Kiss of Death) Vance could go over there and offer his support.

  22. Prior_Implement_9279 on

    You’re not that guy pal

Ohio hates you bc of the colour of your skin

  23. themajortachikoma on

Lmao this guy is very funny. Seems incapable of realizing that you can’t reason or logic a rabidly uneducated and very racist party into thinking you’re anything like them. The moment he tried to explain how his Hindu values are just like their Christian values, no matter how subjectively right or wrong that statement is, he was gonna lose.

  24. Ramaswamy finally figures out GOP voters. Maybe her heard himself talking so much it made him more stupid, too.

  25. lifeat24fps on

If you distilled and concentrated the cringeworthy dorkiness of Musk and the repellent personality of Vance and injected it into an egg Vivek Ramaswamy is what would hatch out of it.

  26. IDontStealBikes on

It’s impossible to read Newsweek articles due to so many pop-ups. I don’t even try anymore.

  27. This fucking turd is still floating around? Figured he would be fingering his own butthole still after getting whipped by the shame cock of Elon and his doge minions.

  28. born_in_the_90s on

When I see him i always think of how Chris Cristy called out that Vivek copy of Obama’s speech.

Edit: and how Ann Coulter called him out on his own podcast
