      It’s the only card they need and the one reason why no POTUS was ever stupid enough to start a war with Iran, but this numbskull thought that they would never play it, yet here we are…

      Iran holds no cards besides controlling the global petroleum supply. We got them right where we want them.

      They’ve got a few cards.  They’ve got the straight of Hormuz.

      They’ve got enough oil infrastructure in their cross hairs that they could wreck energy markets.

      They could also attack the water desalination plants of the GCC  and smash their economies.  Once that money stops flowing into the US stock market, the AI bubble burst and you have a full on US recession. 

      They could also get the Houthis to attack tankers coming out of the Red Sea to further squeeze energy prices.

      Their last card is that their adversary is a massive idiot who should have never been put back into power.  Its gotta be truly delightful watch your enemy consistently make the wrong decisions and dig themselves deeper into a quagmire.

      Maybe this idiot just doesn’t see the following cards that Iran has on the table?

      * controls strait of Hormuz, but more broadly energy markets now
      * has highly enriched uranium
      * has and can continue destroying oil infra in the ME
      * is now capable of charging tolls for Hormuz
      * has demonstrated the effectiveness of their low-cost arsenal
      * geographic resilience if a ground invasion were to occur
      * regional influence of Hezbollah, the Houthis

      I mean, it is fair to say that anyone literate should be able to understand that the US has completely fucked everything up. Hell, there’s nothing that we can even point to in history that is even remotely similar.

      Trump has two options: he can accept failure or continue escalating further for an even bigger defeat.

      If your only card is an Ace in a high card game, what’s the point of mentioning you only have 1 good card. If that 1 good card is enough to get your demands met, I’d say they are winning that exchange. Mind you, they didn’t have this Ace card until Trump attacked them. Talk about giving them shit for free.
