Haftungsausschluss: Ich bin in Malta aufgewachsen, lebe aber seit 10 Jahren im Vereinigten Königreich. Ich kann es nicht glauben, aber die Busse sind jetzt noch schlimmer – schon nach zwei Haltestellen auf der Strecke völlig überfüllt. Beim Fahren ist es gefährlich, wenn das Bremsen unregelmäßig ist. Mit 2 € pro Fahrt auch nicht billig! London ist tatsächlich günstiger. Die Busse waren immer hoffnungslos, aber jetzt ist es gefährlich, sie zu benutzen. Schade für die Regierung, dass sie zugelassen hat, dass sie so schlecht werden, so sehr dafür, dass sie frei sind. Welchen Sinn hat ein kostenloser Dienst, der unbrauchbar ist?
Erst heute Morgen kam es in Bombi zu einer Schlägerei, als die Leute, die an Bord waren, sich gegenseitig aus dem Weg stießen. Ich fühlte mich vor den Leuten, die mich aus Übersee begleiteten, so gedemütigt. Ich verstehe nicht, warum Menschen nicht gegen diese Situation protestieren

If only free public transport meant good quality but alas…we can’t get anything right here.
Restrictions to private car use are needed as a measure to make traffic more efficient. That would be a bad move politically, so it won’t happen although everyone suffers from the horrible gridlock traffic.

I wrote a complaint to Tallinja about the miserable experience of travelling.
There is at least one person on each bus, who sit in the middle, only to scream on a phone call, or listening to whatever garbage on full volume.
Tallinja: there is a sticker on each bus wich ask travellers to respect each other.

Problem „solved“ on their side. They „trully care“ and do everything they can!
Same in rabat – buses to Valletta are once every 30-40min to make matters worse, two come at a time 🤷♂️🤷♂️

In high use areas buses should run every 15 minutes or less to keep up with the influx of locals and tourists.
And they seriously need bus monitors like for kids to stop these idiotic adults from jumping the lines and fighting.
It can be done and done efficiently like in some other countries but the government doesn’t want to improve things for the people.
Im a local too and been living out of Europe for a decade. Im visiting again, today i had to use the bus and i agree with u. The issue is no gov ever invested in a long term plan as most densely populated cities do.. old roads..no highways.. no ring roads.. no underground.. no train.. nothing.. a yee we made motorbikes cheap to ride 😅 wow
Transport in Malta is a crap.
When I visited Malta for a week last month, this bus situation+ traffic jams while taking Bolts totally ruined my experience. When my friends asked me whether Malta is worth visiting, I really didn’t know what to say as I didn’t want to just to bad mouth about the place I visited. I really don’t know how tourists come back let alone the frustration people living there face it.
