No, it’s Waterford that is blocked.

They’re genuine scum. Screwing over ordinary people.

    2. Are you people just posting as much fuel protest related things as possible so you can have endless moaning circlejerks? Do you ever get tired of it?

Slow down traffic, leave a lane open but don’t block it FFS. Ridiculous carry-on.

18 trucks, 12 tractors and 8 other vehicles. 40 people approx to block a motorway that ten thousand people use daily.

About the same number to block a port that millions of people in the supply chain rely on daily.

The sacrifice of the few for the many, selfless individuals. Peace in our time, kumbaya.

It stops being a protest when emergency services are disrupted and lives are put at risk. Stop calling them protesters.

You can’t argue with these idiots. They’ll drag you down to their level and then beat you through experience.

    7. The garda will collect all the online footage and use it to arrest and fine people without causing a riot.

So they’ve created a fuel shortage and inevitable price rises on everything while achieving no decreases in fuel costs. All with massive disruption. Even if they do it’ll be far outweighed by the damage caused.

We should stop joking about the Americans intellect. We’re not a smart country.

I don’t think you know what blocked means. That’s the clearest exit I’ve seen in years.

Idiots influenced by the same far right agitators that got Donald Trump elected in the first place

So they want the government to remove taxes from fuel that they don’t pay?

Why are they such lying bastards bunch of unemployed spoofers

All it takes is one desperate person to snap and take matters into their own hands. I wouldn’t blame anyone for losing it if you’re rushing to the hospital and these dipshits are impeding you.

    13. At least they had the decency to allow people to exit the motorway there.

I passed by Athlone this evening and the Gardaí directed traffic past one of the blockades. Literally the next junction had a **second** blockade across the entire carriageway and were blocking exits/ entrances. The Gardaí had to shift up to them and start the whole process again.

Deploy the army bomb squad. Blow up a few of these „suspicious abandoned vehicles“.

If anyone comes forward to say „that’s my truck/tractor, you must compensate me“, charge them with wasting Garda time, and bill them time and materials for the bomb squad’s attendance and explosives.

Why blow the vehicles up? Probably more costly than paying a clamp fee.

The army would probably love the practice.

Maybe the Air Corps could use some shooting practice also.

I’ve an elderly mother and getting her to two medical appointments this week was a nightmare. Another one tomorrow.

    15. Start issuing penalty points for stopping on the motorway hit them where it hurts.

Protesting the cost of fuel by blocking exits on the motorway is like protesting homelessness by blockading schools.

The US and Israel are the cause of the surge in fuel prices, it would make sense to protest at their respective embassies.

Wouldn’t be a greedy farmer if he wasn’t looking for handouts and tax breaks

    18. It’s bizarre to see the comments here on Reddit all opposed to the protests but on other social media sites the vast majority support the protests. We’re taxed way too much in Ireland, people are finally protesting it.
