Gotta hand it to him this couldn’t be better news for the ndp. If the liberals are willing to accept someone who has espoused anti-vax views, is against reproductive rights, and supported the convoy, they can’t call themselves progressive.

Lewis pushed his own floor crosser and he chose to secure his base instead of expanding it in Carneys direction.

Can someone tell me how Lewis stategey is any different then Pierres and why this will pay fruit to the Party .

  3. Absolutely. With the LPC willing to accept literally anyone who will help them hold onto power and the CPC on the cusp of irrelevance we desperately need adults in the room and other voices being herd.

I think the LPC more or less accepting the Canadian equivalent of maga pretty much destroys any illusion that they are anything but a right wing party with right wing values only. So it’s good we have the NDP moving to the left to compensate. Hopefully the CPC can find a new leader and become competitive enough to split the right wing vote

    >Lewis said Gladu is by all accounts „a very nice person with extreme social conservative views“ and her addition to the Liberal caucus raises the question of whether it’s still a progressive party.

It’s a centrist party that adheres to progressive social values. It feels like opposition parties are trying really hard to make something of this.

I mean, the LPC is basically the old Conservative party. That’s why they are crossing.

It’s nice to finally have a real leftist NDP as an alternative.
