This is an example of how rehabilitation, not punishment, would protect people (since the consensus here seems to be that this man is not rehabilitated).

    Is the judge a man?

If so, they should build a time machine, send this guy back to whenever the judge was younger, and see what happens.

So many cases of „THIS GUY MIGHT DIDDLE KIDS! BUT WE LET HIM OUT! WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE DIDDLED ANOTHER KID??“ it’s genuinely ridiculous

    To the Canadians here…

How and when do you guys think **your** country end up like this. I do not see any other country following such principles or logic. Judicial system is to save the masses from the few who are dangerous to the society and the west *(compared to the east)*, mostly had programs that gave a second change to those individuals if they show evidence that they changed through their behaviour in prison and other programs *(such programs may not be 100% perfect, but exists compared to other eastern countries).* But now, in **your** country, the masses have to change their behaviour to accommodate these criminals.

From a Legal recent immigrant *(who came here to work, live a honest life, have a better life, be part of your community and follow the law)*

And once again, the onus is on innocent and vulnerable members of society to somehow avoid a known, demonstrated threat to vulnerable members of society.

Any attempt to protect or defend yourself will be a criminal act for which you will have to stand trial, losing any money, job, or social standing you may have during the investigation and trial. Data supports that you will eventually not be convicted, but by the time that’s been determines, you’ll have already suffered immeasurable loss of economic and social power, with no recourse to reparations.

I guess we can hope that whoever his next victim is, that they are tightly connected to powerful people in politics and the legal system, so that maybe the neopotism there will trigger some more effective handling of things.

I knew a cop whose job it was to trail guys like this undercover and wait for them to re-offend, which they invariably do, and then arrest them.

He had a funny story about a guy in really good shape that travelled everywhere by bicycle.

He was a very fit cop, but he still said it was the hardest workout days of his life following the guy.

Any other cops have similar tales?
