Eeewww!
The glass encased stairs is going to be a furnace, other than that I like your idea
A very constructive idea, which has positive potential given that the block is used for services like lets say local council needs/pharmacy/postal office etc… the most essential of all and not another business… something that a pedestrian and the large amount of foot traffic using the bridge can benefit from. The benefit of society the building has to offer would only then justify the construction of a footbridge bridge which is under prioritised to vehicles.
But what are the chances of the government expropriating the land for such use….and worse than that itll probably end up being goven to business as we alway
You’re not solving the traffic problem because it’s just going to lead to more people going here the same way one more lane does nothing. The area should just be pedestrianized. Trying to do both won’t solve anything. Traffic will improve for a bit and then go back to sucking and also make it worse for the pedestrans cause it will be less safe and noisier. The coastline should be pedestrianized as much as possible. People complain about ugly apartments but ignore stuff like this when it’s way ugliier because they don’t want to even slightly inconvenience themselves.
100% people will cross the road either way, most of them are teens and I can guarantee they won’t wait for lifts or go up the stairs every single time they have to cross. Also for that span of bridge, how close it is to the sea (corrosion) & the amount of people it would theoretically have to carry at a single time, it needs to be much more heavy duty than that. Also I do not think you can have a bridge in a main road like that, in case large vessel (marina) have to pass from there as on a heavy tow trailer (height restrictions). The only possible way to solve the issue would be to dig a tunnel underneath, but obviously it’s Msida, it will flood in a matter of weeks. Only light can be used there.
