Laut einer am 8. April veröffentlichten Medienrecherche hat sich der ungarische Außenminister Peter Szijjarto mit seinem russischen Amtskollegen Sergej Lawrow über die Frage des Beitritts der Ukraine zur Europäischen Union abgestimmt, ihn über laufende Treffen informiert und EU-Dokumente mit ihm geteilt.
Der Untersuchunggemeinsam verfasst von VSquare, Frontstory, Delfi Estland, The Insider und ICJK, ist die zweite Installation in einer Reihe über Budapests Zusammenarbeit hinter den Kulissen mit Moskau. Im ersten Teil, der im März veröffentlicht wurde, wurde detailliert beschrieben, wie Szijjarto setzte sich für die EU ein auf Ersuchen des Kremls sanktionierte Russen und Unternehmen von der Liste zu streichen.
Die Verkaufsstellen erhielten Audioaufzeichnungen von Gesprächen zwischen ihnen Sijjarto Und Lawrow von 2023 bis 2025. Die Gespräche zeigen, dass Szijjarto gegenüber dem russischen Minister einen respektvollen Ton anschlägt und den Kreml gleichzeitig kontinuierlich über die Pläne der europäischen Verbündeten informiert, der russischen Aggression gegen die Ukraine entgegenzuwirken.
Die Aufnahmen scheinen auch den Bericht der Washington Post (WP) vom 21. März zu untermauern, dass Szijjarto rief Lawrow regelmäßig während der EU-Treffenpausen an um Live-Updates zu den Diskussionen zu teilen.

It has long been suspected that the Hungarian government acts within the EU only in consultation with Russia. What is surprising, however, is how openly the current U.S. administration is cooperating with Orbán, even though they know that Orbán is working with Putin. The same Putin who provides the Iranians with various forms of support—such as satellite data, drones, and training in their use—in the war against America and Israel. Yet it doesn’t seem to really bother Trump that Putin is helping the Iranians kill Americans. At the moment, it appears that Hungary, America, and Russia are working together, yet at the same time, Russia is supporting Iran against America.
Now ask him if they want to leave EU and NATO and fully embrace Russia.
