      Israel is currently undertaking massive bombing in Beirut and Lebanon in general. Looks like could be hundreds dead, apartment buildings destroyed. Completely reckless murder.

      What is the Carney government doing about this? And why is Israel still treated as a respectable ally of ours? They need to be sanctioned for this and all their other crimes against humanity. It is appalling that our government refuses to meaningfully sanction Israel.

      The government designated Samidoun a terrorist group 18 months before Israel passed its new death penalty law. Trying to link the two events is disingenous.

      And it is quite a leap to argue that if the government doesn’t support this one niche pro-Palestinian group, then it doesn’t support Palestine at all.

      What legal restrictions on speech apply to groups like Samidoun? I genuinely have no idea what I can and cannot say about them, since they’re designated as a terror org here now.

      Which is ironic, given that even the US has not gone that far. Just Israel, Germany, and Canada, as far as I’m aware. The US just sanctions them.

      I’m pro Palestinian person in favour of a two state solution.

      Samidoun is pro Palestinian but its also anti Israel and pro Hamas.

      Samidoun is banned in Germany.

      As much as I oppose extremist groups supporting Palestinian causes I also recognize that Israel is seeking a Greater Israel by violating international law (ie sovereignty) while committing war crimes.

      Extremism on both sides are at fault.

      Israel didn’t need to pass any new laws to execute terrorists, the death penalty has remained on the books all along. They however decided a very long time ago that leaving terrorists to rot in prison was preferable to creating more martyrs. It is extraordinarily unlikely this law will have any effect.

      I am not sure what it is going to take for the world to wake up to the horrors that are going on at the hands of Israel. Between the genocide in Palestine, the bombing and killing of innocents in Lebanon, and all the bombing of innocents in Iran, its just atrocities stacked on top of another.

      Add to this the illegal settlements in their apartheid state that displaces tends of thousands of Palestinians. The Israeli government has even gone so far as to encourage the violence in the West Bank by telling people to arm themselves.

      What will it take for action instead of words of condemnation for the world to put a stop to this senseless killing of innocent people?

      Can we list Israel as a terrorist nation yet? Can we begin the boycotting and divestiture of Israel yet?

      10,000 men are about to be murdered for crimes they didn’t commit.

      Children are being slaughtered in MULTIPLE countries in the area by Israeli terrorists.

      Israeli Terrorists in the West Bank are literally burning women and children alive, as they sleep, so the terrorists can steal their homes but groups that call out Israeli terrorism are bad?

      Why is it that when Palestinians and other people defend themselves against violence from Israel, they’re terrorists, but Israel can ILLEGALLY „double-tap“ schools, hospitals, etc… and „they’re just defending themselves?“

      Then the usual rhetoric from the defenders of Israeli terrorism will be say, „Israel has a right to exist“ – even if one accepts that the toothpaste is out of the tube on that one, Israel DOES NOT have the right to ACTIVELY STARVE children by banning baby formula from entering Gaza. THAT IS NOT self defense. That does NOTHING to assert or defend Israel’s right to exist.

      Why does no one ever get to ask, „Do Palestinians have a right to live and exist WITHOUT being beaten and tortured by Israeli Genocidal Forces?“
