Mein Freund Serdar Ferit ist 45, lebt in Großbritannien und kämpft seit über drei Jahren gegen Darmkrebs im Stadium 4. Er hat mehr als 30 Runden Chemotherapie und 28 Strahlentherapiesitzungen hinter sich. Die NHS-Behandlungen haben ihn am Leben gehalten, werden ihn aber nicht heilen, und er ist nicht für die Immuntherapie-Studien im Vereinigten Königreich geeignet.
Sein Onkologe unterstützt einen Plan für personalisierte Immuntherapie und Krebsimpfstoffe in einer Spezialklinik in Mexiko. Es sind 4 Behandlungen über 2 Jahre. Es ist nicht billig – die Gesamtkosten belaufen sich auf 290.000 Pfund, und er braucht bis Ende April 125.000 Pfund, um im Mai mit der ersten Runde zu beginnen.
Er hat bereits über 175.000 Pfund von rund 1.900 Menschen gesammelt.

Anything I can do to help other than donating money? As a cancer survivor myself I’m wishing him the best of luck. I’ll share this post as much I can.
Is it not an option for him to be seen in a hospital in Istanbul? Especially if he’s turkish cypriot and falls under the entitlement to turkish citizenship, better still if he is a turkish citizen but even if he’s only a citizen of uk/cyprus the fact remains that there are hospitals in Istanbul now doing immunotherapy (I think Medipol is, Liv Ulus would be worth to make the contact,too) and I know at least in terms of cost Turkish healthcare is supposed to be very competitive, at least in terms of quality and equipment both of the hospitals I mentioned are leagues ahead of nhs hospitals in the UK.
