White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has struggled to explain the tenuous ceasefire deal Donald Trump agreed to amid reports that parts of the agreement had already been breached.

Less than a day after both sides decided to pause the war for two weeks in order to begin negotiations, uncertainty emerged over the status of the economically vital Strait of Hormuz and Israel’s ongoing attacks against Lebanon, home of the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah.

Despite Trump boasting of a new “golden age” now that the Strait was open, Iranian state media said on Wednesday that it had once again shut down the critical oil chokepoint in response to Israeli attacks in Lebanon.

Appears to? The Strait is closed again, and bombs are going off everywhere.

I“m shocked that a desperate last minute ceasefire written with a sharpie on a diet coke stained coaster is difficult to explain.

  4. Leavitt is continuously vile and nasty, she clearly doesn’t understand that her job is to inform the American public, not to push easily disproven lies about her pedophile boss

Why do we even need a press secretary when Steven Cheung, X and Donald have it covered?

    Waste.

Trump boasts about what a great deal he negotiated with Iran. The problem is he rushed to an agreement without all the details being totally resolved. Was Lebanon part of the ceasefire deal or not? Is the Strait of Hormuz controlled by Iran or the US or both as Trump has implied? Israel is part of the problem as they do not really want a ceasefire. Netanyahu is a warmonger and he is driving a wedge in the so-called ceasefire agreement for his own political purposes. Trump is an idiot and he knows nothing about anything but stroking his narcissistic personality. Kushner and Witkoff are real estate tycoons which is totally different than ceasefire or war negotiators. We are fucked.

Netanyahu isn’t going to stop killing Lebanese any time soon, without someone pulling him up short – and Donald sure as fuck doesn’t have the balls to do that.

There was never a comprehensive deal made. Trump was played like a fiddle by Iran. If the 25th Amendment isn’t invoked ASAP, America is going to dig a massive hole for itself that will take decades to dig out of, all thanks to Trump, and the morons who voted for him.

  10. Geez they 1D chess put Trump in a corner.  If he does nothing and keeps claiming he won, gas prices stay high (which is the only sin his party is reluctant to forgive, because it affects them personally) and if he takes action, he got a deal that was worse than nothing.  But that’s a pedophile for you.

Remember that this started back on March 21st when Trump issued his first 48 hour ultimatum.

Then he issued a five day pause on that ultimatum which he eventually extended to a ten day pause.

This was followed by another 48 hour ultimatum on April 4th, which was extended to Tuesday, April 7th at 8pm.

During this time, Trump couldn’t make up his mind about the U.S. military’s „objectives,“ his messaging was erratic and his claims about the ongoing situation in Iran were wildly inconsistent to say the least.

He was also insulting allies and threatening Iran with war crimes and its wholesale destruction. Of course, this did nothing but escalate tensions with other countries and cause chaos around the world.

And now we have this tentative agreement that came on the precipice of Trump’s „final deadline.“ The terms of which neither country can agree on, and a ceasefire that is contingent on Iran opening the Strait of Hormuz and keeping it open, which is already facing setbacks.

A proposal no doubt inspired by Trump’s infamous „two week“ delay tactic.

The ceasefire deal also includes terms like Iran’s full control over the Strait of Hormuz and allows both Iran and Oman to impose a toll on ships traveling through the Strait.

The Farsi version of the agreement includes the stipulation, „acceptance of enrichment“ for Iran’s nuclear program. Also, Netanyahu has excluded the Israel and Hezbollah conflict from the ceasefire agreement.

If all of this is the case, then what the fuck is the point?

Well, Trump’s primary concerns throughout this whole fiasco have been with how the war is affecting his ratings and the global markets, and with how surging oil prices are bad publicity for him. It’s also been a huge blow to his ego. Everything else is immaterial to him

For Trump, the real purpose of this agreement is damage control, mostly damage to his pride, and also to disguise it as some kind of brilliant achievement.

But despite the White House’s efforts to sell a narrative of „mission accomplished,“ there’s nothing to celebrate because nothing has been gained…

The only thing this agreement does successfully is placate Trump’s insecurities and alleviate his distress—perhaps preventing him from spiraling totally out of control and unleashing widespread destruction on millions of civilians.

Either way, expect his followers to claim that this was all part of his „master plan.“

Yeah, he’s a real war time genius.

Global trade disruptions and market shocks, sharply rising oil prices, a massive price tag for taxpayers, rifts with allies, expanding conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, dead US soldiers, millions displaced, thousands of civilian casualties, including CHILDREN…

Indiscriminate bombings of schools, hospitals, residential areas and heritage sites, massive energy infrastructure damaged or destroyed, Persian Gulf allies shutting in their wells and taking the brunt of Iran’s counter-attacks, NATO partners dealing with the economic and security blowback of the war…

No „regime change,“ no new deals, no freedom for the Iranian people…

Meanwhile, Iran is still being run by a theocratic, militant and repressive regime.

The IRGC remains a powerful authority in the country.

The Islamic Republic still has their nuclear material and missile supplies.

And worse yet, Iran has gained significant leverage over matters of their sovereignty, their control over the Strait of Hormuz, and even the future of their nuclear weapons program.

Not to mention how this war has given Iran the sense that they have the ability to stand up to the United States.

So really, what the fuck have we actually accomplished?

I don’t trust the judgement of any of his supporters. They’ve proven they can’t be trusted

Isnt this what they always do when confronted with the truth? They refuse to answer important questions and belittle the journalist for asking such offensive questions.

“How dare you question the President’s narratives? You should be ashamed of yourself after all he’s done. Why don’t you ask about what a great job he’s doing on immigration?

It’s a circus. This Executive Branch should not be considered a legitimate. They’ve broken so many laws, that to law biding citizens there is no longer a respect for the office or administration. The people should hold an unofficial impeachment vote that will dictate to Congress just how many people want him out. It’s time to ramp up pressure. He’s threatening to end civilizations and has gotten Hormuz closed for the first time in my life. That will have severe real world consequences. Trump’s presidency has been a threat for a long time. He’s unfit.
