Silly they are MIA not dead. No death benefits for you. Looks like to prove anything you need to search Reddit until you have video proof they are in pieces. A scavenger hunt of sorts.

And when you die they twist it in such a way they don’t have to pay.

    3. When even loyal propagandists react like this, it shows how far things have gone. The messaging isn’t even hiding it anymore.

It also says a lot about the reality behind these numbers – people are starting to realize that surviving even is guaranteed, that’s why I did my own analysis of how long Russian soldiers actually survive in this war. I used only Russian sources – pro-war propagandists and reports about Russian soldiers.

The full breakdown is in my last video on my Reddit page or YT channel

A dead man can’t argue when they fail to pay up. Genius, really.

    6. PantodonBuchholzi on

To be fair given their losses it only makes sense the death payment is included.

Considering the „life cycle“ of Russian contract soldiers in Ukraine, I find that a very realistic outlook on possible earnings.

Besides, this add might be aimed at spouses and children, pointing out they can trade domestic violence and drunken stupor for cash if they convince their husband/father to sign a contract.

    8. Ukraine should set up a website listing all the identitys and information they have on Russian soldiers killed in the Russian invasion. This would put more financial pressure on the Kremlin to have to pay death bonuses.

It’s the “per year” that makes it chef’s kiss – the recruiter knows they’ll only survive one year.

    10. goblin playing dumb, pretends he doesn’t know that average russian soldier doesn’t have a high live expectancy.

Nothing untruthful in the ad. It even says it’s the maximum payout. It never says you get that exact amount every year.

We get those kinds of  crappy sneaky ads in the west. It’s just more hilarious in this particular incidence.

Haven’t seen it mentioned in this sub yet, but they are also hilariously offering boosted rate,  special  savings accounts (specifically for military members).

You deposit your checks straight into them, but they can’t be withdrawn from until a set amount of time – like a year or two iirc. Time enough for you to get chunked/mia, and make claiming it even more difficult for your beneficiaries.

So technically, they are still in the books on paper only, and not being paid out by the gov, which would have to count it their budget. This way makes creative accounting so much easier since they also control most of the banks. Likely hoping that it will remain on paper because the soldier is dead or mia, and withdrawal is impossible  at that point.

A lot of people are gravitating towards “proof of death” or other concepts about not making the payment.

I’d just like to also point out that means the pays shit as a default, and imagine you “just” lose a foot.

      88% is nuts.

    13. Honest advertising. There’s now way you’re seeing that money. And you’re most likely to die than not if you sign up. I’m not even mad

      17.5M = $222,804.23.
      Base pay: 2.5M Ruble = $31,827.25/year.
      Death benefit: 11M =49 ft 2.551 in $140,048.37
      Sign on & combat bonuses: 4M = $50,926.68

*Note: the US military breaks its ranking into E for enlisted, O for Officer and W for warrant officer. We will be using the E1 base for comparison as the advertisement includes the minimum salary for contract soldiers, functionally equivalent to an E1 base pay.*

To put that into perspective, an E1 in the US military starts with a base pay of $28,886.40/year (housing allowance – if living off base – adds to that).

In other words, the Russian military is paying *more* for a basic, entry level recruit who comes in on a contract than the US military pays its recruits.

On top of that, the base pay for Russian contract soldiers is 3x the national average salary. To put that into perspective, the average US annual salary in 2026 was $63k. Multiply that by three and we get $189k.

So, in very rough terms, the Russians are paying the equivalent of $189k/year for an entry level recruit. In 2024, the average life expectancy of Russian troops in Ukraine was ~2-4 weeks.

Average yearly income in Russia is $10,700.00. The death benefit is roughly equal to 13 years of the average salary.

To put that into American terms: $63k average salary for 13 years = $$819k. Btw, the maximum SGLI (life insurance) benefit for US troops is $500,000.

The bonuses are also massive, far exceeding the US max of $45k.

In conclusion, Russia is paying through the nose for recruits. In outright dollar terms they are paying more than the US does, is paying out a higher life insurance benefit and a higher bonus ceiling. And doing it all in a country with a cost of living that is a fraction of the US.

It would be like an E1 making the same amount as an E9 with 14 years of service.

Somebody calculated the savings on social services and pensioners vs a direct „pay“&out and looks like the numbers came up green for removing russians.
