“The pole is now officially closer to northern Russia than to Canada” – Canada you deported Santa Claus?

  2. Meh.. how about pole reversals? lol

    TLDR: from the Wiki page:

    > Reversal occurrences appear to be statistically random.
    > There have been at least 183 reversals over the last 83 million years (thus on average once every ~450,000 years).
    > The latest, the Brunhes–Matuyama reversal, occurred 780,000 years ago with widely varying estimates of how quickly it happened.

    Long version:[Geomagnetic pole reversal](https://share.google/BZVWVzRrM7cD9mwo5)

  3. According to the map, the magnetic pole is now the closest it has ever been to the geographic north since we started taking measurements. So the next time you head out for the pole, it should be easier.

  4. Does this change the earths wobble, axis, or something? Is North America going shift North and Asia Sourth or something like that?

  5. Its ok, if it ever move to the usa, ICE will deport it back to where it belong. Or congo.

  6. We are overdue for a full scale flip from south to north and that’s probably our extinction event eh?

You know, this is reported every so often and you know what? Nothing happens. Go back to your regular programming. TY

  8. The magnetic model this article references (WMM2025) was released 15 months ago. It’s known there are shifts in the 5 year predictions vs reality. If you need more accuracy yearly models like BGGM or HDGM are available.

The Earth knows what needs to be done, I don’t know how it pulls it off, as long as it pulls it off.

Is the North Pole really the North Pole? Opposites attract, so wouldn’t the North Pole technically be the South Pole?

I blame magicians, they just keep fucking around with magnets without knowing the consequences

So, how much more do I need to adjust the declination on my compass?

  13. That’s a pretty crap map. The bold white asterisk (denoting the magnetic pole) is partially covered by a 60 degree label!

How dare it do that unannounced!? Doesn’t it know some of us are trying to live here!?

Theoretically, if you had a big enough magnet, could you flip the poles manually?
