Der Unterschied bedeutet, dass die Rentenjahre seit 2010 ins Stocken geraten sind. Dennoch ist es schön, dass Europa etwa 15 und Frankreich mehr als 20 Jahre im Ruhestand hat. Es verdeutlicht auch das Problem Frankreichs mit zu hohen Rentenausgaben (ca. 14 % des Haushalts).

Retirement is guaranteed at 67. So move to france once you are older and you don’t need to a contribution length to get some retirement €.
What if the longer life expectancy was due to the earlier retirement age? The overspending on pensions is a different problem, it is due to pensions being too generous because retirees are the largest voting group and no politicians wants to touch this anymore.
Can you do a version of this using line colours that can be more easily told apart?
I don’t think it will change things a lot, but could you use Life expectancy at 50 or 60 to measure the gap ? People who die young dont‘ care about the retirement age.
Edit: Can you be more clear in your sample, what’s in Europe ? Is Russia included? Do you use only European OECD countries? or all of them? Many South American countries will lower the life expectancy
I’d like to see the same graph with either a few selected comparable (Germany, UK, Italy, etc) or at least the EU. I’m not sure the gap would be that large then
There is not enough work for everyone. Let old people enjoy the rest of their life and let young people in worklife. With the salary of 2 old ones you can hire 3 young ones !
Also tax the rich properly !
life expectancy at birth is not the best measure.
Life expectancy at retirement age would be more relevant.
