He’s getting paid. He knows the game. He’s just padding the pension, auditioning for that far fight podcast and doing it on a tax payer dime.
He’s unelectable

Fact is the CPC isn’t bound by things like campaign promises or policy choices, just look to their ideological twins in Danielle Smith, or even Victor Orban. Promise whatever gets you elected then once in power execute a Christian nationalist agenda, as long as you control the media and keep your political base popping from one culture war rage bait issue to the next, they don’t notice when you turn the government into a kleptocracy.
That’s what the CPC is now and has been since the pandemic when the internal party structure was purged of moderates. You look at the CPC today, and a former firebrand under Harper like Michelle Rempel is now one of the most progressive members of that party. The Overton window isn’t just shifting, it’s on a fricken bullet train.

He’s politically irrelevant. In 10 years the liberals will be a Tory minority party, the NDP will be the serious opposition, and the conservatives will be what they are best at; whining about fringe social issues while cosplaying white supremacist libertarianism.
