Amazon is notorious for greenwashing their operations by rolling up aggregate numbers and then buying “carbon offsets” to try and mitigate the damage. Zero transparency. And all of their AWS clients are complicit because they don’t demand greater accountability.
Lol people most concerned with „line go up“ want companies trying hard to make line go up to disclose secret sauce that helps make line go up.
Not going to happen.

My big takeaway from this article is that someone created a market research firm and called it „Mordor Intelligence.“

I used to build data centers. A majority have detailed instrumentation to measure power and water consumption down to the gallon or kW. We will not ever see those stats with today’s political climate.
They can build their own solar and wind power generation. With enough capacity they won’t need any water for cooling.
They don’t need our power or water to exist. They need it to be billionaires.
They need to use their own bootstraps to pull themselves up.
