Less than they are actually spending on protecting Ford’s phone from scrutiny, but more than they are actually spending to Protecr Ontario citizens?
Odds are good.

But remember folks, the Federal Liberals declaring conflicts of interest is a scandal…but if Ford does it behind closed doors, it’s OK.

I’ll give you all the answer: it’s hundreds of millions on tv, radio, movie theatre, and online self congratulatory ads. The same thing they hammered the Ont. Liberals for while in opposition.
Nevermind millions on Metrolinx ads in cineplex theatres telling people to shut up and stop complaining.
I start seething when those ads play. We have no money for healthcare, education or social assistance but we have hundreds of millions for ads promoting the progressive conservatives? Fiscally responsible my ass.

Conservative governments across Canada dump huge sums into blatantly partisan advertising all the time, pretty sure this has been standard operating procedure since Canada’s Action plan ad spending had zero impact on Harpers standing in the party. At least thats when I first witnessed this dynamic, where the ANDP was criticized for spending $1.9 million promoting their own policies on the radio, but mums the word on the more than $60-80 million on ads Smith spent in 2023….
It’s a pretty glaring double standard that seems to play out across the country, like the standards for corruption are completely different depending on what colour tie you wear. Don’t believe me? Do yourself a favour and look at MP on the federal level or MLA’s on the provincial level and compare the numbers for travel expenses, it doesn’t matter if it’s provincial or federal it’s the same pattern, this double standard remains for both.
Not to say the other parties don’t have a problem with corruption, because they absolutely do. But in order to battle corruption properly we need to be able to measure these things on an equal footing. **We need to hold all of our political leaders to the same high standards.**

Archive link because Metrolinx tried to delete all the evidence that they ever did this: https://web.archive.org/web/20240122165929/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qlgr6rAb4n8
