  1. Everything is a complete mess. The most important aspects of our lives are relegated as „provincial issues“ but all of the provinces are broke beyond repair. The system is clearly either terrible or not functioning as intended. My province is tiny and a billion dollars in debt and public infrastructure is a disaster. There doesn’t seem to be any solution except either spend our way out of it or change the system itself. Sure we can vote other parties into government but there’s not much they can do with a deck stacked against them and voters patience almost nil, and the cycle just repeats every election

  2. Our strong version of federalism was always doomed to fail. We’re one of the most decentralized countries in the world.

Provinces need to lose most of their power or we’ll never be able to become a coherent country capable of doing great things and providing for itself.

When most of them couldn’t be bothered to show up for the last two elections in Ontario I wouldn’t count on it. People for whatever reason only seem to pay attention to the feds and act as if they’re responsible for everything. Makes no sense.
