I just don’t understand *why* things take this long now. How has every damned thing become a battle?

If this project and a pipeline (if and when there is a concrete proposal) both get shelved due to political opposition/red tape, it will be almost conclusive proof that we are incapable of seeing more than 2 feet in front of our face as a country.

The problem with the proposal the OLP had was that it was a last minute idea (for the 2014 election) that was created by a third party consultant with some unrealistic goals. Said consultant was/is known for his questionable work yet has a tendency to charm people to trust him and was eventually hired as a consultant, eventually for Metrolinx promoting his own agenda.
The instant his name was dropped and the proposal was publicized, a number of transit experts dismissed the idea (for good reason).
