  1. According to the 2026 World Happiness Report Canadians over 60 ranked in the global top 10 for happiness and those under 25 ranked 71st place. Only three countries saw a steeper drop in youth happiness than Canada and those are Malawi, Lebanon, and Afghanistan.

  2. When the government’s priorities are exclusively to get votes and cover up bad GDP numbers, this is the result. Elbows up everyone!

lol not surprised lol !!! Govt is importing people from India flooding refugees

  4. Youth have to work harder for less, even if they can find work since the government is importing more people than jobs.

  5. Honestly surprised they didn’t try to blame this on the war in Iran or something random when we all know whose to blame.

I mean it’s a little bit of a no shit piece. I guess I was surprised about Quebec. That, and the growth in retirement funding. Tbh a little surprised it’s coming from the globe and mail.

Because the government only cares about shipping in people from the third world for cheap labour

They are not looking forward to owning nothing! Not going to love it! Guess the trudeau and the carney were wrong.

The liberal government has royally f’d them in 11 short years. Let’s not forget the ndp that propped that govt up and all the people who voted for more scandal, mismanagement, epic policy failure and zero fiscal irresponsibility.

When you’re gov leaves you in the dust and cares about anyone but their own and hopeless future, this adds up

  10. Cant afford rent, can’t afford groceries, can’t afford gas, can’t find a good paying job, can’t afford higher education, can’t afford to breathe soon

Gen X here … it’s the over 60 crowd who I see hanging out in public drinking with their friends, chatting about their recent vacations in coffee shops, etc. The 20-something crowd are the ones staying at home fretting about their mental and physical deterioration. It’s like the Great Inversion.

  12. There are more sentiments about weakening OAS these days, the irony of it all is that it will probably happen eventually.. and by that time the boomers will most likely have already mostly benefited from it and the millennials will lose out again.

Why would they not be miserable? The government acts to the benefit of baby boomers, immigration consultants, the real estate industry, south american gangs on tourist crime sprees, temporary foreign workers who misrepresent their Application and lie their way in, people selling services to TFWs such as drivers licenses, violent repeat offender criminals, aboriginal groups, various special interest religious groups, and the grandparents of TFWs who arrive on supervisas to use medical services but never pay their bill.

Where on earth are they going to find room to squeeze in policies for youth wanting to contribute to society and make a life for themselves?

Young Canadians have been systematically excluded from the economy with every level of government working against them. For over a decade, Canada has experienced the largest housing bubble in the world which saw rents and home prices skyrocket until recently. And then on top of that, the government weaponized the immigration system against workers to suppress wage growth while making corporations and landlords even richer, and now we have garbage wages, a distorted labour and housing market, and a youth unemployment rate that hasn’t been this high since the Great Recession.

Stemming from these economic issues comes the psychological aspect. Young people are stuck living at home longer, can’t leave their hometowns, are limited in exploring their independence and individuality, struggle to build a life that makes sense for them, have less buying power than previous generations, aren’t finding suitable life partners, and can’t see a path to the future.

  15. They prioritize temporary foreign workers. They only look to appease the parties if it benefits their pockets.

Failing healthcare, expensive groceries, unaffordable housing, stagnant wages, all while getting taxed more every year and paying into a pension program for a generation that’s basically had a golden ticket their whole lives… Fkn real mystery we got ourselves here.

There is no future in Canada. Our politicians would rather whine about how unfair other countries are, than allow young Canadians to experience an adulthood that previous generations enjoyed. And then they whine some more, this time about a lack of “unity” or “loyalty” from young Canadians. Maybe they should’ve changed their course years ago!

  18. Walk into any entry level job and its full of TFWs! Rent is insane, groceries are up and during another world oil crisis our government is gonna roll out another tax and raise prices… Elbows Deep eh!!

Because literally nearly everything is against Canadian youth in this country.

Vote differently. That’s what we have to do. Vote differently and try something new. The liberals will not do anything new. That’s why in 2 years we’ll have to vote differently.

    That’s it.
