  1. I’m all for parental choices, but posting it is questionable to me. It’s don’t think it’s anyone’s business how she raises her children.

Her name is Rumer so I guess ironically she is attempting to dispel all rumors about her parenting choices?

  3. Yes, I don’t know why she feels like she has to explain herself. It’s her child and her decisions.

Why is she sharing all of this on social media? Of course you’re gonna have critics if you overshare like that…

  5. Why isn’t pumping a better option when kids get older? If their parents want their children to have breast milk.

I didn’t breastfeed due to an inability to do so despite numerous attempts. I cannot imagine breastfeeding a 3 year old… with teeth.

Her choice but not what I’d do. To each their own. She doesn’t own anyone anything

  7. Asking for it by posting. Attention starved good or bad. Just ‘notice me’.

Breastfeeding at 3 is not super common but if it’s working for both then it’s ok. It’s really more about comfort and the mother daughter bond.

If you’re gonna post your private life for public viewing, you have to accept the criticism that inevitably follows.

I don’t *want* to be a judgmental person, but I am and this is not okay. If they can speak in sentences, it’s time for weaning.

Can celebrities think about their kids before posting this crap? That kid is gonna get bullied someday because mom overshared

  11. I knew a kid who was breast fed till he was 12. For the record I’m very much serious about this. His mother was a og trust fund hippie and a pediatrician. He was her “3d world experiment” Dude was weird and was absolutely obsessed with milk.

  12. Completely normal to still breastfeed at this age. With child-led weaning anywhere from 18 months to 4 is typical. The oversharing is gross. When her kids are older they are going to want to have control over their own online presence. I have hated all the oversharing they’ve done regarding Bruce Willis too. I don’t know him but I can almost guarantee he would NOT want his entire family posting his decline online.

3 years is not abnormal. Maybe in a modern western society but in the historical and global context, mothers can provide for years often until they have to provide for another.

  14. We need to normalise breastfeeding. She is doing her bit. Wish more women felt comfortable doing it for without backlash. If we need women to have more kids, it needs not having them conform to beauty standards or having to cover up.

Worked with Rumer a few years back and she’s a total sweetheart, but maybe we don’t need to know all this?

One of my college friends who decided to start a family did a deep dive into info-gathering on all aspects of creating/raising a kid. I bowed out fairly quickly ‚cos, eeeewwwww, lol! But, this Time magazine cover sparked a HUGE conversation about this whole subject that was hard to escape. I have always wondered how humiliated this kid was in his later years because of this photo…

I had a teacher do this in class once. She was fired. Not for that though.

Mind our business but let me post my business for all to ignore.

  18. It makes you wonder when it goes from bonding and nourishment to child abuse.
