Pretty sure South Africa should be here… I’m South African and I have NEVER come across someone who cannot speak English. Maybe not fluent in rural areas, but still understandable.

This can’t be correct – there is no way that less than 80% of either Jersey or Guernsey speak English.

Yes, [Jèrriais](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%C3%A8rriais) and [Guernésiais](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guern%C3%A9siais) exist, but they are only spoken by a very small amount of the population – who would also be fluent in English.
