      All he has to do is write a letter saying he’s mentally fit and they can’t do anything. Only impeachment will get him removed

      People don’t understand the 25th amendment.

      All Trump would have to do even if the 25th is invoked is to write a letter to the President pro tempore and the Speaker and say that he is fine. He would be president again. And it would be up to Congress with a 2/3rds vote in BOTH chambers to remove the president.

      It’s actually harder to remove by the 25th than it is regular impeachment and removal (conviction) since impeachment is a simple majority in the House and then the 2/3rds in the Senate.

      The regular impeachment and conviction process is what needs to happen

      Ultimately, wouldn’t this end up at the Supreme Court? The 25th amendment isn’t particularly squishy. Declaring Trump incapacitated isn’t enough, he would need to be beyond a reasonable doubt.

      I don’t think it would hold up and would just create more chaos.

      They were hand selected to NEVER use the 25th Amendment.

      Even though they swore an oath:

      I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

      This isn’t even close to being in the realm of possibility. It seems like a lot of Americans are waiting and hoping for some sort of miracle to happen. You can keep yelling into the void that you didn’t vote for him/this but a lot of your fellow countrymen did either through direct votes or not caring enough to vote. Say Trump is gone tomorrow great what about the 10s of millions of people in your country who still actively support this? They are not going away, and there has been no evidence that they will ever change.

      Pointless headline. *Who* is urging his Cabinet to invoke the 25th? If it’s not the Speaker of the House, the Vice President, or another Republican with real power then this isn’t news.

      I’d take a military coup at this point. The president is insane, out of control and a danger not just to our country, but the whole world. His sycophantic party will allow any level of depravity and insanity to maintain their own hold on power and cannot be trusted to impeach/remove him. The constitutional safeguards have proven ineffective. How about all of those fired generals figure out a solution. If not now, when?

      You know in a petty way, the biggest reason I would want him removed from office while he is alive is I want him to experience the global parties once he is gone as he won’t get to see how much people celebrate when he is finally gone forever. I want him to truly understand how hated he is.
