That’s like a cop busting your headlight and then giving you a ticket for a busted headlight. This is some Roscoe P Coletrain level of law enforcement.

Going to take a wild stab at this, the 2 most likely fled to the US and turned informants as part of an asylum deal. Now Donnie is betraying that and going to sell them back to their executioners in Iran as negotiation chips.
    USA! USA! USA!

Can we arrest someone simply because they are a relative? Welcome to the free world.

Using members of the Iranian diaspora who escaped from the Iranian government and using Iranian people in the USA as some sort of bargaining chip with the current Iranian government is just plain stupid and criminal. The Trump Administration can round up all the Iranians in the USA but if they expect to use them for leverage, the Trump Administration just keeps on failing.

  5. One was active on social media celebrating the death of US service members. Stupid when you are here at the pleasure of the SoS.

They also claimed asylum to enter the country, but have returned to Iran four times since then- indicating the asylum claim was bullshit.

  6. Collective punishment is a crime against humanity. Israel does it day. Now USA has joined.

This is like that time in The Naked Gun when Ludwig took Jane hostage at gunpoint and Frank Drebin responded by taking an innocent bystander hostage at gunpoint and saying ‘two can play at that game’. As if the regime cares what happens to Soleimani’s niece.

    >”The other thing with the terrorists is you have to take out their families, when you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families. They care about their lives, don’t kid yourself. When they say they don’t care about their lives, you have to take out their families.” Trump, December 2015.

  10. The Constitution needs to stop being trampled on. Revoking green cards are just another fascist wet dream. It’s either freedom of speech, Liberty for all or none.

I find it dubious the the family of a major terrorist leader would live in the country that assassinated him

  12. I’m actually ok with revoking legal status from the elite from other countries who always want their family to live in a free society yet don’t provide it for their own people.

  13. So Iran captured the weapons officer from the F-15 I assume. We arrest these two women as bargaining chips.

It’s not his niece. The family already confirmed that they have no relatives in the US.

If someone pays $5 million for the Trump golden visa, can that also be revoked on a whim?

Freedom of Speech was supposed to apply to everyone. Not with this Admin.

If the family members of these regimes aren’t breaking the law, there’s absolutely no reason to do this and we should not be applauding this. We should be worried.

Because it’s a gross overstep of the government.

Let’s say the relative is going to university here and politically supports the regime.

That’s not a crime. This isn’t the 1950s and the Red Scare. We can’t be just deporting or rounding up people who have opinions that oppose the government’s.

Because if the US is doing that, it’s a breach of the 1st Amendment, literally.

I don’t care if Iranians support Iran. Unless they’re doing something actually criminal all they do is have a political opinion other people disagree with. The government has no right to remove them.

…and ask yourself “What’s next?”, what if citizens start to not support the government? Than what? You think the same government that has internment camps for illegal immigrants and that has had federal agents murdered protestors in the streets in Minnesota is going to all of a sudden become squeamish about arresting political dissenters in the US?

…and Americans honestly think there’s going to be a fairly run midterms… naive fools. Americans are so overwhelmed with corruption they’re numb… they’re just party to corruption in real time.

  18. To be fair, once the tides have turned, anyone with trump dna within 2 levels is fair game for the justice system. The entire line need to be eradicated.

According to Soleimani’s actual daughter these two women have no connection whatsoever to her family and just have a common last name.

Now she could be lying, but I’d have a lot more confidence in that assumption if the US had actually followed our own legal procedure here and sent this green card revocation and deportation through the courts instead just just snatching them off the street and putting them on a plane because an unhinged rightwing grifter influencer tweeted at Marco Rubio.

If this had been done properly there would have been ample opportunity to confirm their identities. Since like everything else this clown car administration touches it was a clusterfuck, I figure there’s a decent chance they grabbed two random women. If so they will never admit it or rectify the situation, they’re just going to keep insisting they got the right people forever and wait for the media to forget about it.
