Trump and his lackeys can do insider trading, but god forbid I be able to bet on the number of American jets that get shot out of the sky by an Iranian in the back of a Toyota Tacoma.

    2. Even if all this is made illegal, it is a nadir of ethics in this country that this is even a item to deal with.

Aww, what a shame. How is Hegseth going to make $1.5million on Monday at around 2:47pm local DC time?

    4. These types of betting markets create an ungodly number of conflicts of interest. This country is becoming a breeding ground of corruption like it’s never seen before.

Can governments start reigning these fucking things in? I used to be for an unregulated Internet but I was clearly not depraved enough to realize what that entails.

Why pick and choose? The supposed argument in favor of betting markets is that its a way of financially incentivizing information extracted from the wisdom of the crowd. If they draw a line at one topic, then they’re tacitly admitting that some things are beyond the pale to bet on, which invalidates their supposed raison d’être. I’m not arguing in favor of this being something people *should* be allowed to bet on, just that being selective about this one opens a can of worms about why some of the other unseemly markets are allowed to stay active.

    7. Polymarket is such a piece of trash. I watched a hockey game once on a US channel and they were in every commercial and all over the boards in the game. These things are worse than cancer.
