      Basically all Trump wanted was to blow shit up for the purpose of creating war flavored content for his media machine. He had no actual interest in waging a war and believed that enough explosions would make it a quick one-and-done situation for a PR boost.

      One thing to understand about maga is that „war“ for them means indiscriminate destruction and violence without any rules. They have no patience for war as logistics, planning, or consideration. All of that is soy and gay to maga world. Their only answer to frustrations in their war effort will be more violence.

      The last two times they were in “negotiations” with this administration they were bombed. Why would they talk to us, we can’t be trusted. If there is a peace agreement it will most likely be arranged by China and the neighboring countries in the region and will include some kind of lifting of sanctions on Iran. As with most of what trump touches we’re going to come out of this worse off than we were going in.

      Feels like the Russian attack on Ukraine, on paper it’s over in days, in reality shiets not that easy. The US could probably be years there fighting Iran.

      Who needs a cease fire more? Trump does. Gas stays high until he stops bombing. The mid terms are at stake. If the Rs lose Trump could be indicted and may end up in jail.

      Iran is fine they are even making money by charging for passage of ships in the strait. People are dying sure but they aren’t revolting yet.

      at the bare minimum the US should offer Iran restitution and removal of US forces from the region.

      If the world wants their oil, their ability to plant crops to feed themselves they should literally hold Trump’s feet to the fire until Iran gets whatever it wants.

      Feels like Iran is goading Trump to land troops.

      Anyone paying attention to the events in the Black Sea these past years will know that shore adjacent modern navies are very vulnerable to drones. Ukraine has sunk a large portion of the Russian Black Sea fleet without a functional navy. Thus far the US Navy has been stand off far in the Arabian Sea, I believe that troop landing carriers on approach to Iran is the moment Iran is trying to engineer as they feel they can inflict genuine US casualties.

      No peace in sight.

      Iran has no reason to believe Trump would honor a ceasefire after attacking them twice during negotiations. Iran gains nothing in a ceasefire, Trump has repeatedly stated total destruction is the only goal.

      Excepting Iran to tap mercy is a mistake, they planned for 50 years of a US invasion and it has happened.
