We’ve gotten nothing but hostility every time we hear from them. Carney will have to do his best negotiating with an administration that doesn’t even seem to act in their own interest so people should tamper expectations. There is no such thing as a mutually beneficial trade agreement to this administration
We should expect not to hear a single honest word from anyone in this administration. I’ve come to believe their goal is to string us along and eventually torpedo the negotiations, hoping to collapse our economy and take us over.
We don’t have a partner to negotiate with.
Canada is probably the wealthiest country in the world in terms of real resources and we have very few options.
Also in the news: water is wet.
The US’s official policy is North America is theirs to run and we need to help them offload any of our industries they want to take. They’re encouraging separatism. They’re apoplectic if we have our own buy Canadian provisions.
Pretty hostile.
