What is katzap?
“Katzap” is basically a slang insult for Russians, mostly used by Ukrainians. It goes back a long time and likely comes from a word meaning “goat” or “butcher,” tied to old stereotypes about Russians having beards or being rough. Today it’s considered derogatory, especially depending on how it’s used.
