this is work that other countries have done 10, 20 years ago already. the irish government don’t want to legalize cannabis. simon harris has said he personally does not want legal cannabis. they will examine and consult and committee about this for years more, doing the classic irish government piecemeal slow-walk to avoid getting into a position where they might have to take real action.

„A 2024 study by the Health Research Board found medical cannabis could significantly benefit the treatment of nerve pain underlying conditions such as multiple sclerosis and diabetes.
For other conditions, including anxiety and pain in conditions such as cancer, rheumatic diseases and fibromyalgia, the review found no conclusive evidence to confirm the efficacy of prescribed medicinal cannabis.“
Good if you have MS or the diabeetus but if you are in chronic pain or have cancer you can go fuck yourself.

The vast majority of people who enjoy pot are working, responsible adults, who simply enjoy the odd toke at home.
Stop treating us like children, legalise it and leave us be.

Fuck off with this and just legalise it.

Damages the dna that you pass onto your children and hasn’t been shown to be any more affective than other medication that does not damage your dna. Although it would make the blind boy sort who like to smell their own farts happy.
Was it a contributing factor in a murder case here? A heavy user killed a family member?

Problem is this fucks the garda with drug testing and ohhh I smell weed for sources of convictions. The easiest source they have. It just adds to all the other bullshit reasons they love dragging their feet.

We’ll probably see the brits legalise it fully first, and then our gov will follow suit when they see all the tax revenue lining the king’s pockets

It should absolutely be made available for more conditions, especially chronic pain conditions where the alternative is highly addictive medications that come with a host of side effects.
