      Nestled between headlines about Britney Spears (“Spears Sets Sail With Sons After DUI Drama”) and Tiger Woods (“The Only One Driving Is Me!!!”), the celebrity tabloid news outlet TMZ is slamming lawmakers for skipping town as the partial government shutdown stretches into its seventh week.

      “Lindsey Graham was ineffective talking his colleagues into keeping the government open, but he had a great convo with Mickey Mouse Sunday … at Disney World!!!” [the outlet wrote in one story](https://www.tmz.com/2026/03/29/lindsey-graham-at-disney-world-during-shutdown/).

      It’s the latest instance of the outlet taking an interest in members of Congress. TMZ executive producer Harvey Levin told NOTUS they now have a producer and a photographer circulating Capitol Hill.

      “We wanted to use our platforms to show how Congress — Dems AND Republicans — have betrayed us,” said Levin.

      This is what our congress is doing after they just failed horribly at their jobs and part of the government remains in a shutdown

      They should not be allowed to vacation until the shutdown is resolved. They are embarrassment and failures

      I’ve said this many times before – these pols should not have a moment’s peace in public. No violence no pics of kids. Point and laugh at them, cut them in line, stare (not glare) them. Servers – ask fof their order several times and then bring the wrong order; be out of every special. Do not let them enjoy concerts, ball games, any performance or activity. Take lots of photos of them wearing the ears.

      They should experience life as the average American does and feel the same unease and anxiety as we do as they are the cause of most of it.

      I have no say in American politics but someone should take a page out of the Vatican conclave and lock them up until a deal is reached anytime a shutdown is in effect.

      They have become a heavy-weight in political reporting since the guys who used to do that just carry water for the political class.

      TMZ didnt climb up to politics, politics climbed down. This should be embarrassing for those who now work for billionaires in media that once considered themselves serious people.

      I am not sayingf they don’t when they target celebrities, but this is a clear case.

      And if there is one type of speech that should be protected above all others it is speaking truth to power.

      Dude, this is DMZ’s golden era. They took the (sometimes awful) skills they gained with celebrities and applied it to something that actually matters. Wish they had done it sooner.
