How does Isreal justify this? What is their official answer as to why this is acceptable?

WOW !! Capital punishment has been on the books for ***israeli citizens, including palestinian citizens of israel***, the death penalty is a possible punishment for certain offenses under existing laws such as genocide, crimes against humanity, treason, and certain wartime terror offenses.
The Israelis–well, the ones running the joint–are aware that „The Jewish State“ is circling the drain. The only way forward is something similar to: „Victory or death“. Nothing is off the table.
To put it in practical terms, no one is thinking, „If justice ever catches up to me, if I go easy on the Palestinians now, maybe they’ll go easy on me then.“ That’s ludicrous.
Now when Israeli settlers come to a village in the West Bank, kill the locals and burn their homes and mosques, and if the locals resist, they will now be hung by the Israeli state unless they’re killed by the IDF first. This is a mix of apartheid and ethnic-cleansing. Very apt for Israel.
As usual, the Europeans are going to issue mild statements and do nothing.
