Why would they do this? Didn’t they hear the news?

Affordability’s the best it’s been in over a decade.

    2. Heartbreaking that it’s gotten to this point. Something seriously needs to be done to tackle the increasing cost of necessities

Should be only be provided for Canadians. The system is being abused by international students.

    4. It’s good to remind all that food security and the well-being of vulnerable Canadians is a government responsibility. While social enterprises and community organizations may have shouldered the burden for a long while, the onus is ultimately on the government to deliver.

      >some employees of food banks have also reported purchasing food for their programs, because they’ve also faced a decline in donations as previous donors have also been facing their own financial difficulties.

This should not be permitted. Yes, some people are willing to be generous, but they should be protected from themselves if they’re being overly self-sacrificial. We’re bad neighbours to allow that.

It should only be for people who are Canadian citizens. Why do we let people on travel or work visas, or student visas take advantage of our system?

    6. This is the kind of thing I want my government to take care of/prevent.

Let’s not be America where we are ok with this and just throw our hands up and say „oh well, there’s nothing we can do“.
