If you’ve ever visited an oil refinery, you know how extremely dangerous it is. Even as a visitor, you have to go through safety briefings and wear escape masks; safety protocols are strict because of the risks of fire, gas leaks, and explosions. If a fire breaks out, people often can’t remain on site at all due to explosion risk and toxic fumes. That’s why it’s hard to see how operations could continue as normal for quite some time, regardless of exactly what’s been damaged.
This is Israel’s largest facility of its kind. The plant accounts for a huge share of the country’s fuel supply; in normal years it delivers over 60% of all transport fuels, diesel and gasoline, used in Israel. It’s also a major hub for the plastics and chemical industries, which makes any strike even more hazardous.
In today’s attack, March 30, 2026, reports indicate that at least one large storage tank at the Bazan refinery in Haifa has caught fire, somewhere in the range of 20,000 to 40,000 cubic meters. That corresponds to roughly 20 to 40 million liters of gasoline or diesel.
Operations have reportedly also been hit by power outages, and parts of the facility have been shut down. It’s highly unlikely they can return to full capacity anytime soon, as safety protocols require complete decontamination and thorough leak inspections before personnel can re-enter damaged areas.
They may have reserves and a smaller refinery to fall back on, but this is still a very significant loss.

How I wished we elected smart leaders and spent all this money on making the world better instead of destroying each other and making our planet harder and harder to live in.

What was Israel thinking getting into this? Did they really think enrichment was back in the table? Was it Netanyahu’s distraction? Religious reasons?
With such a sleeping tiger next to them, why stir it in such a manner?

So, this is when it really hits the fan – where infrastructure for daily life of innocent citizens is now heavily impacted across the whole Gulf region with retaliatory strikes. Thanks Trump!

Iran has limited resources and is using them wisely. The US and Israel have a lot of resources and are using them to bomb schools because they are using AI to do their homework

Oil companies, especially US oil companies are making a killing because of Trumps war. At least he kept good one of his promises, to make oil companies more money.
