Monroe Township in Gloucester County introduced an ordinance to “remove data centers as a permitted use at a 159-acre redevelopment site” affecting traditional data centers and more AI focused ones. The vote is scheduled for April 8.
Mayor and town council have stated this is the first step of their goal to ban all data centers in the town.
