Passstempel finde ich wirklich schön, und ein bisschen traurig, dass sie so langsam verschwinden. Ich hatte das Glück, letztes Jahr eines der letzten Exemplare aus Kambodscha zu ergattern.

How does USA know if someone was Iran then? Can you just lie?
Interesting. I took the ferry from Argentina to Uruguay and back on a day trip and my passport was stamped both ways by Uruguayan Passport Control. Was actually the only stamp I got on that trip since Argentina doesn’t stamp anymore. This was in February 2025, it looks like Uruguay will completely stop stamping passports next month. Nice little collectors item!

Japan certainly still stamps on exit – by request.
Why is it being phased out? For Israel and Iran I understand it’s to avoid trouble for travelers from being questioned but why the EU and other countries?
US did not stamp my entry last time I went (December 2025).
Oh so you can visit Israel and Saudi Arabia ? They used to refuse your entrance if you have the opposate country stamp

In 2024 didn’t need my passport on a cruise in Barbados or St Lucia
Peru does still stamp on entry but only if you cross through a land border (Jan 2026)

When I viaited the Maldives I got a beautiful stamp if a sea turtle and a sticker. Was really nice.

Liechtenstein will stamp your passport for fun if you pay a small amount or have the tourist card. You get it at the main travel center in “Downtown” Vaduz.
I see the map also includes stickers as „stamps”. I expected it to show countries that use literal stamps
You can still get a stamp in Australia. Just have to ask and maybe wait in another line.
UAE doesn’t stamp passports either. On entry and departure.

Peru stamps on land borders.
Got a new passport back in early 2021 and since I saw myself traveling a bunch once covid ended I paid $20+ dollars for extra pages in my passport. Now I feel pretty silly, all those extra pages and bulge in my pants but it’s still largely empty despite traveling to so many places.
The real killer is that I sweat once while my passport was in my pocket and now half the time the entry/exit scanners can’t recognize my passport.
Indonesia did not stamp my passport in or out of Jakarta (2024). I don’t know if that was due to my evisa (required for US citizens) or not. Did that change?
New Zealand didn’t stamp my passport in February 2024. Still a lil bummed about it.

Thailand only stamped on entry on my recent in transit visit. Bangkok Airport. They had eGates for departing travellers so a record of exit could be obtained.
