The USA doesn’t even need this extensive network, to start at least connect the main corridors like the NE, Texas Triangle, California etc

I love how this puts extensive rail in the wilderness of Quebec.

First time I’m realizing China extends far more north to south than the mainland US.

But but US so big.

it should be the shame of this nation that the east coast isn’t connected from NYC to Miami. that could be something the government can do to give people tangible real jobs and nope, not a damn thing happening.

For reminders, Eastern China has literally 5x the population of Eastern US/Canada, and its citizens are much poorer.

I don’t get it. China doesn’t have any diversity, multiculturalism, or democracy. Why is it so much better than America?

Can someone please think of the poor car manufacturers in this country??

China only had a 3,000 year head start so let’s compare the U.S. to China in 5026

We have so much money. (And can print more). Just we don’t know what to do with it. Only if there were clues.

And the fun part is that high speed rail or not the USA had, still has, one of the most extensive rail networks. While we still have amtrak there used to be extensive passenger rail around the country. But it wasn’t profitable, or said it wasn’t, and freight rail doesn’t like to share. So we systematically shuttered almost all of our passenger rail. We *can* have these things but elected officials, if not bought out, have extremely dim views on public transportation. Or we actually try something but it ends up in development hell because you know that money is getting pocketed left right & center with the added benefit that they get to claim its a abject failure and we shouldn’t do it again.

This is what my tax dollars should be paying for. Instead they pay for health care for Israel and bombing schools in Iran.

It’s a shame we don’t have this in America, and it’s just inexcusable in some areas, like the NE.
More options of how to get around is just better for the consumer.

The US has no need of high speed rail.
Cars cover everything that airplanes don’t.
If you look at the level of poverty in China, the amount of people who don’t have cars, and the amount who live in apartment flats…
You can easily see why the US does things differently
