      for anyone wondering, slovakia doesnt recognize kosovo out of fear the hungarian minority could seek independence as well (i dont think that would happen, personally)

      Spain is a Powerhouse and role Model in the EU regarding matters like Israel, USA, Iran etc. But they are totally wrong about the Kosovo matter.

      Edit: yeah I know about Basque, Catalonia, Puidgdemont etc.

      I am aware of historic ties of Greece with Serbia, but never understood the benefit of them not recognising Kosovo.

      Those that don’t: Spain because of Catalonia and Basque Country, Bosnia because of Srpska, Greece and Cyprus because of Northern Cyprus, Romania because of Szekelyland, Moldova because of Transnistria, Slovakia because of Hungarians in the south, Belarus and Russia because Serbia is their ally, and Ukraine at first because it didn’t want to anger Russia and now because of their eastern territories.

      The global picture is not as defined, but a majority of UN members recognize Kosovo as a fellow nation. That number will only increase as time goes on.

      I love Serbians. They jump into their DeLorean and travel back in time 🙂 when Kosovo was theirs.

      Not „most“ of the countries do not recognize Kosovo. It’s mainly the ones that have the same mindset (North Korea, China, Russia) it terms of destruction and war crimes as Serbia has.

      The other, democratic and free ones that don’t do, have internal political consequencies. This does not mean, they love Serbia or whatever.

      Who’s gonna tell the world that it is a failed state, with more population living abroad than at home and emigration is accelerating.

      In census 1990 it is said that there are 2M Kosovars and now you have 500K living in Germany, 180K living in Swiss, 50K living in Slovenia etc.

      OK and what means grey? Does it mean no data or not recognizing? A map without full legend is not mapporn but shittymaps

      I am proud to be Spanish and to stick by international law. We do not recognise Kosovo, or Crimea or Greenland if the Us occupies. You cannot stand by international law only when it suits you.

      Ultimately, the reason is not Catalonia or Basque country, but Gibraltar and the fact that all the Spanish claim on the rock lies in full and non negotiable respect for International law.
