
Das NASA/ESA/CSA-Weltraumteleskop James Webb demonstriert mit seinem ersten Bild von Neptun seine Fähigkeiten näher an seinem Heimatort. Webb hat nicht nur die klarste Sicht auf die Ringe dieses seltsamen Planeten seit mehr als 30 Jahren eingefangen, sondern seine Kameras zeigen den Eisriesen auch in einem ganz neuen Licht.

The JWST has been our best move for space exploration in the last 20 years. Looking forward to what it reveals on the atmosphere of exoplanets
Is that the actual image without any editing? This looks surreal
Admittedly I don’t know much about how the JSWT works but I didn’t know it could get pictures of such a close object. I falsely assumed it was built in a way that could only look into deep space very narrowly. Amazing to see this!

Seriously every image that comes out from the JWST is incredible. I just want more and more! Also, sorry if this is a dumb question, what’s that bright blue-green star in the background?
