just shows how hard religion declined, kinda sad. (also r/PORTUGALCYKABLYAT, again.)

natural endpoint of protestantism. who would believe in god when you can come up with a trillion interpretations of “God’s word”

    3. I’m a Canadian atheist and my company was purchased by a Czech company. 100% of my Czech coworkers were also atheist. It was awesome. I really liked working with the Czechs. I jokingly called them „fun party Germans“.

    4. I’m surprised that Albania, a Muslim country, is considered atheist . However, yes, they are one of the most tolerant countries toward religious beliefs.

The thing with religion and most religious people and officials (priests, imams etc) is that they do not hate other Religions (even though the existence of one denies the other and vice versa), but what they really despise is ignorance and generational atheism. Why? Because those people without even the knowledge of the concept of Religion, because their parents were atheists in the first place, are the most dangerous things to the Church/Mosque/Temple. Why, you ask again? Well, even if you were a Satanist or a Paganist, you play their game- you „believe“ in their system, which somebody high-up built it and now plays God or whatever. If you are completely unaware of the existence of God, then you do not attend their Sermons- you basically don’t give a crap about them and their pockets.
My family is generational atheists (since my grandpa was a Commie), and my mother was never in touch with Religion. As the third generation, I have faced much more discrimination than many other Religion-haters or Satanists or Paganists. I just don’t care.

    6. Slovenia should be atheist, we just baptiste kids, but not many are actually religious – actually believing in god.

    7. In Turkey, Atheism is indeed in a rise, yet I believe still around 60% to 70% of Gen Z are Muslims, although the majority of them aren’t practicing muslims rather muslims by identity

Ireland is actually atheists as well, but they’re catholic atheists as opposed to British atheists

To clarify, in Ireland most people arent observant and most are agnostic or atheist but generally we’ll go to Mass at Easter and Christmas and we’ll pray along. This very much includes Gen Z. This is no way a bad thing, the Catholic Church commited horrific crimes in Ireland that it got away with because so many people were Catholic and didn’t want to believe that the church was doing these things, or didn’t want to see their local priest punished. It’s a very good thing the church has little influence nowadays.

I mean Atheism is definitely rising in Turkey but it’s not like the most common religious state for any age group in my opinion. No way Atheism trumps Islam in that way. We can say it’s the fastest growing one but definitely the most common one.

I’d believe it in my country (Norway) since most of the people i know are Atheist / Agnostic / call themselves Christian but not really ykwim.

    12. Italian Catholics are Catholic just in the name. Most don’t go to church or even pray, they’re practically undistinguishable from atheists.

The map is almost certainly mislabeled and atheist should be labeled no religion

If you don’t know the difference, you have no business creating maps about religion

Bosnia is barely majority at ~50%, maybe even less. The second half are christians.

    15. The only reason I wana stay in Europe, good luck finding a good wife with critical thinking skills if they’re brainwashed by a religion

Yh gng I’m Bulgarian and I can confidently tell you 90% of „Christians“ can’t tell you wtf the trinity is.

As a Greek, I don’t think Greece’s data is accurate at all. And if it „is“, I’m not sure whether it was collected correctly.

The catholic in italy are the baptized people, if you go to a church during a mass, it’s probably semi empty and there are just 50+ people

    19. What a terrible map, wow. This is perfect as a teaching tool, to show all the mistakes

Big fan of black text on dark blue backgrounds, great work OP

If the mods on this sub actually did their job this shit would get deleted

Atheism is literally the lack of believe in a god, so not a religion.
