Things must be getting bad a „panic Headline“ in the Guardian that would not be out of place in the Express what is the world coming to. Companies have had to re route logistics and consequently there may be an increase in prices.

I am pretty sure the Department for Health will be able to get the additional cash to pay for the drugs if it comes to it.

Nevermind that. What’s it doing to the price of cod? Been years since I could afford fish and chips.

The wildest part of this is we’re all just expected to accept the consequences of a war that was kicked off by US-Israeli imperialism in the first place. Now global supply chains are getting wrecked, shipping routes disrupted, and the country facing medicine shortages, and all our government can seem to do is smile and nod. It’s the same pattern every time. It would honestly be nice to just have a few years of boring politics for once.

Wouldn’t it be sensible to already start rationing medicines, fuel, and certain other products to avoid a Covid-style panic-buying run as well as increased shortages further down the line? I’ve heard experts say that we *will* have some shortages in a few months even if the Strait of Hormuz was opened today. Seems like politicians are not acting fast enough?

I remember the British press grinning over how good Trump was for Britain. And now this.

There are already shortages on half the drugs I’m on. Seems like every month it gets sent back to the GP so they can prescribe a similar one, which never works as well as the original

    7. Is the reason why the media does not discuss to the same extent the USA blocking oil deliveries to Cuba i.e. exactly what Iran are doing because it has no impact on the UK ???

The guardian is posting clickbait stories based on some guy in Texas accesses risk?

      Jesus Christ.

It would all be over if the terrorist islamic republic that’s occupying Iran ends their brutality and leaves like Iranian people have been wanting for decades.

The real enemy is the islamic republic.

Most people are being kept sick by the many medications they are prescribed needlessly
We will probably see a massive decrease and sick people once we stop overly medicating people for the gains of big pharma gangsters.

    12. Which is why we’ll get dragged into it.

At this stage, I think Europe needs to work out what gains it can get, because the Strait being closed, or just as bad, controlled by a mercantile USA, is not going to help our future outlook.

If the USA controls the strait, they will probably tax everyone on its use, straight into Trumps crypto account

It’s genuinely alarming how fragile our supply chains are, and this feels like a direct consequence of geopolitical instability we have no control over. The fact that even the Guardian is running this kind of headline really underscores how serious the situation is becoming. You’d hope the government has a solid contingency plan, but their track record on this stuff isn’t exactly reassuring. We really are just passengers on this ride, aren’t we?

    14. Not defending the insane war of choice here, but how is a 4 week blockade of energy affecting how much medicine is available in the UK? I don’t see the A to Z on this one.

Oil supply down, prices up, ok, I get that. No factories are shutting down „in weeks“ tho.

Trump has touched almost every person on the planet and almost all in a negative way.

      Yet he has supporters.

Whether it’s him alone or a politicial movement he’s ridden, his actions are having wide ranging global consequences.

At least Europe will hopefully stand on it’s own feet at some point and not be reliant on a now very unreliable partner.

    16. Expel the US ambassador and see if we can get our ships through.

Yes the Iranian regime is abhorrent, but I don’t want to pay the consequences for trumps dementia fueled war

    17. The experts needs to STFU because now people will start panic buying them like toilet papers and those who are sane and actually need medicine will not be able to get them!!!!
