    1. This is kind of misleading. Ethanol adds significant knock resistance to fuel and allows one to run more boost (if available) timing or both to make lots more power. It also offers evaporative cooling and runs much safer and just generally is easier on an engine. They’re saying it has ‘less power’, they really mean less energy, so you get worse fuel mileage. It’s way better by any other metric.

The only reason we don’t use e85 everywhere is because it makes it harder for the government to manipulate the cpi with farm subsidies

    2. I can’t fathom what’s really happening through this veil of propaganda, but it’s starting to feel like Iran is winning the war.

    3. If only we had some way to move cars around without being tied to gas prices.

So if this leads to damage to my car, can I sue the government for compensation for my car? As this is only happening due to the lack of balls from Congress to stop the orange’s war of choice?

    5. Is the extra pollution from burning ethanol or just fro. The extra evaporation?

    6. This is so stupid. I already pay more for ethanol-free petrol. Why is the US so braindead?

ethanol isn’t cheaper gas…. it is just tax dollars subsidizing a horribly inefficient use of water to grow corn to distill into ethanol in one of the most energy & water inefficient schemes ever.

    8. Gotta pander to farmers after their destroyed their businesses, lives and families.

    9. I really honestly thought we collectively learned ethanol isn’t a viable option years ago.

    10. So this is just smoke and mirrors. The gas “looks” cheaper at the pump but we, the consumers, will end up paying more because this adulterated gas produces less power and lower gas mileage plus it probably causes engine damage in the long term.

Since we’ve fucked up the entire world’s oil supply we are going to let gas stations put in a lesser, more polluting product into the gas so that you get worse mileage and have to refill more often.

      Did I get that right?

Could have spent the last 8 years electrifying our transportation and houses… then conservatives and republicans could start all the wars they ever wanted.

If only there was a way to not burn gas in car. Some other source of power. What could that be? /s As a BEV owner and PEHV owner, with solar panels on the roof of a house soaked in sun. I’m feeling like I know what the answer is. Hell of lot cheaper to boost BEV and solar than the path we are headed down now.
