The link between reproduction and long duration spaceflight is more interesting than most people realize. „affecting early embryo development“ seems like the key point, because that pushes the problem past fertilization and into mission planning for any realistic multigenerational scenario.
All I’m saying is that someone should FOIA NASA for all communication between Mark Lee & Jan Davis on the Space Shuttle Endeavour (STS-47) of 1992.
And maybe how that informed the apparent subsequent unspoken rule of not having any more married couple on simultaneous mission.
