Any bets on when the UAE decide that their half of the shores means they get to charge tolls too?

Significant things that reshape the world can happen when you destroy the system of international law and choose to start an incredibly stupid war.

How weird. We didn’t have this problem one month ago.

Hey, remember when the US attacked Iran at Israel’s request and that resulted in Iran choking out oil exports through the Straight of Hormuz making gas more expensive globally?
mmoore327 on
That kind of prevents the Americans from just leaving – they are going to have to fight it out.

Toll booth regime?
So kinda like a tariff?
Where did they get the idea?

Thanks for giving Iran the ability to do this America, ya dim bulbs. Stop messing with things you clearly don’t understand.
Funny thing about toll booths… they’re collecting money one day, next day, a pile of twisted metal and stone.

This could be the way for Trump to off ramp out of Iran, by getting an agreement for Iran to not have nuclear missiles, reparations paid by toll booth from arab country oil tankers and Trump can just leave military bases outside of the middle east by saying they are an unnecessary expense or something. Trump then declares victory as Iran doesn’t have a nuclear missile, while saying we destroyed their military and supreme leader. America has left the middle east to focus on China and not get bogged down in another useless middle east war.
Not saying this would work but could be a feasible out for Trump and the republican party.

This literally makes Iran better off than before the strikes with the lifting of oil sanctions as well. Wow trump was so right that we would get tired of winning, I’m tired can someone please sub me out now?

Apparently Oman has a rightful claim of territorial waters it doesn’t matter which side. Iran definitely doesn’t own the whole Strait so this is a territorial claim too.

This will be the final straw for Saudi, Bahrain, Qatar, and the UAE. They’ll enter the fighting soon.

The long-term solution to this is more electric vehicles.

This seems rather dumb on Iran’s end, all this does is just make an enemy of everyone else. It’d make more sense if they just charged American shipping cause yknow not friends and all, but I feel like the other nations of the world are probably a lot more willing to fight Iran when they now have to pay extra on shipping oil.

Regardless everyone else except the riches is gonna suffer when all the costs are gonna get passed on to the consumers.

Depends on the size these tankers but if these are VLCC, with $100 oil the premium of a $2M dollar toll is about 1%
