And this is exactly why, when all the people cry about having to prove their disability and have ’scary‘ interviews etc, they need to remember that the rest of us , and working disabled don’t want to pay for cunts like this.

„While claiming her health was so poor she could not cook or wash herself, Wieland made 76 beauty appointments, visited 60 pubs, clubs and restaurants“.

In fairness, this seems consistent at least.

Seems like she’s over the anxiety then. If she could share her miracle cure, that’d be great.

The system is there for those that need it but it is shamelessly exploited.

tbh, i really don’t care. these rare cases are used to justify taking money away from people with actual problems when the money lost to fraud is insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

My teenagers ex girlfriend had „anxiety“ and couldnt work. She could however go to about 6 concerts a year…

    7. throwaway_ArBe on

Cant say I care. The amount of fraud is insignificant compared to the amount of people not getting enough help, and causing a fuss about fraud tends to just result in disabled people getting shit.

    8. They should invest in more jobs hunting benefit cheats too much of this shit goes on.

I’m not clued up on pip payments but how did she get 23 grand in 2 years?! I thought the money was similar to Universal credit I wasn’t aware you could get that much

    10. pickindim_kmet on

Meanwhile some days I literally can’t leave my home because of a physical chronic illness and was told I’m not entitled to PIP because I can wash and clothe myself.

    11. Is this one of the immigrant benefit cheats?

That who we need to look out for.

„Wieland had even submitted a review claiming her condition had got worse following a luxury trip to Mexico,“

      fucking comical

I do like that you can drop into the pool, but I’m just trying to remember.

I worked at an axe throwing place and had a husband message ahead of time saying his wife has anxiety and what the possibility of a refund would be if she is overwhelmed by people looking at her

20 minutes into a 90 minute session she pulls out her phone and TikTok live streams herself on a tripod for the rest of the session

Great, now go after all the wealthy hiding money in places like Panama or the corporations using loop holes to game the system

    16. CaterpillarLoud8071 on

There has to be a more rational way to handle disability. Money can’t fix anxiety. If people need therapy, employment support, taxis to get about, home deliveries, carers or special accommodations at work and home, that can be subsidised (with receipts). But giving people money and expecting things to get better is unlikely to be cost effective. Being unable to work at all should be a last resort and involve a lot of scrutiny.

If you’re going to commit benefit fraud at least be clever about it

    18. Mister_Sith on

Does no one else find it strange that somehow the system is both a daunting process that in some cases has literally led to people dying, but also some easy to game that these cheats make their way through. When you look at the rates of successful appeals against the DWP I really don’t get how we are in this bizzaro world.

    19. i sometimes wonder if rich people see poor people (let’s face it, they see us as poor, top 10% holding almost half the wealth) arguing with other poor people and laugh and are so glad that they aren’t criticising them. also once again this sub proves they have no idea how anxiety works, not defending this woman but rather just confused at how people still don’t get that anxiety isn’t logical. if it was logical no one would have it.

    20. Here’s me 5 disabilities, working 70 weeks, live in pain, over medicate to stay on my feet, vomiting from pain killers, no support, no friends no family, childhood trauma, deep depression, but I got told I won’t get pip because I have 2 cats.

    21. These stories are just used to whip up some indignation. If you look at the figures benefit fraud costs versus how much tax isn’t being paid by the likes of Amazon it pales in comparison. But let’s all focus on this instead. It’s no surprise the country is in a state when people are so easily manipulated.

    22. TheLegsOfaRam on

Let’s all get mad about this instead of Amazon never paying their taxes, or MP’s giving overpriced contracts to their mates, or services being sold to hostile foreign interests.

But nah yeah, it’s definitely benefits cheats costing the working people of this country.

    23. Tancred1099 on

Is this girl some sort of devious genius or could anyone fake a similar claim?

    24. I’d be interested to know what the terms of the repayment are because in too many cases they have been of the „pay us 10 quid a week“ variety which would mean taxpayers will get the money back in only 40 years or so.

When cases like this happen the first thing that needs to be done is for every piece of property these people have to be seized and auctioned off. Even if it doesn’t raise that much money it would still help act as a real consequence and deterrent to others.

    25. Nearby_Werewolf1742 on

Forget the cheating, my question is why is she getting so much money in the first place that she can afford all of this? If she was apparently never going out she doesn’t need that much money, she should be given just enough to live on.
Why was it when I was unemployed I only got paid about £70 per week to live on and that included for everything? When I was unemployed I could barely get by, why are certain people on these such massive amounts of money? Why did they get so much and I got so little? Even though ive been working snd paying tax most of my life?

    26. VegaTron1985 on

I pay, like a lot of others on high salaries, for twats like this. Should be jailed.

    27. Btw we demonise immigrants who do this but its nearly always white British people who defraud via benefits

    28. Lets compare it with the taxes billionaires evade.

Which of those 2 should we fund to be properly investigate?

It’s impossible to determine who deserves it and who doesn’t. That is the problem and the solution is to not try introduce UBI and abolish the minimum wage.
