    1. Will do f all. It’s probably going to rise further by minimum 10 cent again. And then the idiots we have running the country will be adding on another 5/6 cents with the carbon scam

I have said this to everyone so here is my soap box. There is some mad price gouging going on. Oil is $100-$104 a barrel. If we want to hit the petrol stations where it hurts the buy nothing in the shop. You need your petrol or diesel but you can go somewhere else for the coffee or sandwich. If a lot more people did this then they wouldn’t be long dropping the prices to get us back in

      >“The Irish Petrol Retailers Association (IPRA), which claims its members have been getting abuse over pricing, said fuel retailers have bought fuel over the past few days at the higher excise rate and that they will sell this stock at a loss.“

These are the same cunts who put up the price on the old stock bought before the conflict.

    4. I’m looking at circle k in Clane and still 2.29.

      Let’s start naming and shaming

    5. “However, many service stations might be still selling existing stock – on which a higher excise duty was paid – meaning motorists will not be paying cheaper fuel prices at some pumps until old supplies wash through.”

No sorry we’re not price gouging, we’re just selling the old petrol at the higher price…

How much did we buy? Ehhh, loads I think..

Why did we buy loads of fuel at the higher excise rate when the dogs in the street knew this cut was coming? Good question!

Why didn’t the government reduce the VAT on fuel instead of the duty? VAT would be an immediate reduction at the point of sale, because it wouldn’t have been paid in the wholesale price by the forecourt. Unlike duty, VAT doesn’t get applied until an end consumer makes a purchase.

Was in Co. Tipp for various reasons yesterday, worst I saw was 2.38 for diesel. Can’t imagine the soft serve effort by FFG will accomplish much in the face of prices like that.

    8. Made a point of checking the prices in the three nearest garages to me last night on the way home from work. Checked them again this morning on the way to work.

All 3 still have identical prices.

Funny how when the price is going up, „we buy fuel every day and the price for us buying has gone up, we can’t sell it for a loss“, but when the price has gone down, it’s „oh but we didn’t buy any new fuel today this is still old fuel that we bought at the higher prices so we can’t sell it for a loss!“

I imagine leaving poor 2 star google reviews would be something small people could do to for the garages that are price gouging.
Not going to change anything but it’s one of the few actions available to us normal people without any political sway.

    10. My local Circle K dropped diesel price by exactly 20 cents but they were the most expensive to begin with. I’m more interested to see if Certa (cheapest) dropped by this much.
