Ich arbeite in Dublin an einer Fotoserie mit dem Titel „Because I Care“, in der es um Menschen geht, die sich nicht für die Dinge entschuldigen, die sie lieben. Ich möchte Fans und Sammler mit umfangreichen Sammlungen fotografieren und mich dabei auf die persönlichen Gegenstände und Sammlungen konzentrieren, die Ihnen etwas bedeuten, sei es Anime, Marvel, Zeichentrickfilme, My Little Pony, Garfield oder jede Art von Sammlerstücken, die Ihnen wirklich am Herzen liegen.
Wenn Sie in Dublin oder irgendwo in Irland ansässig sind und mitmachen möchten, würde ich mich freuen, von Ihnen zu hören. Oder wenn Sie jemanden kennen, der sich dafür interessieren könnte, schicken Sie ihn mir gerne zu.

I remember a funny story told by Mike Mendez who invited Dolph Lungren over to his house (during the making of Don’t Kill It) – his place is like a museum of toys and props.
He was showing it all to Dolph (and maybe even asking him to sign some He-Man merc) and Dolph looked at him like he had 2 heads and could not comprehend why, a grown man had a house filled with toys… Mm was laughing about how much of a dork he came across to Dolph who he really wanted to impress.
That being said I had a huge collection of horror stuff – toys/vhs/books buy but by bit after moves and then the kids arriving they are put in storage never to appear again…
I am left with 3 tall shelves of Disks, the top which has some toys ans memorabilia but that’s it..
I’ve been collecting all my toenail clippings since I was 12.
I keep them in an old 10L bucket of dulux weathershield.
2 more years and I reckon I’ll have it filled.
Reminds me of this painting by Harriet Casey called ‘Are you sitting comfortably?’. It was a finalist in the national portrait prize in 2024. I think it is so charming!

Have ya tried the different toy collecting groups on Facebook I know for a fact theres a lad in the wrestling figures one with a gigantic collection
